P R O C L A M A T I O N
CULVER CITY EDUCATION FOUNDATION WEEK
WHEREAS, the Culver City Education Foundation (CCEF) is a charitable, non-profit organization incorporated in 1981,
and is celebrating 24 years of dedication to quality education; and
WHEREAS, the CCEF has granted over $1.1 million for programs that include the Teacher Innovative Program (TIP) Grants,
library books for all the school libraries, and grants for science, arts, literacy and physical education; and
WHEREAS, fundraising efforts by the CCEF have provided for funding programs at all grade levels, including bilingual
parent education at the Office of Child Development, the “Math + Music” and other literacy enhancing programs at the elementary
schools, tutoring and a fitness trail at Culver City Middle School, and a student retreat and horticultural project at Culver High and
Culver Park High Schools; and
WHEREAS, the CCEF has partnered with Sony Pictures Entertainment to provide the ACME animation program at Culver
City Middle School, providing a unique opportunity for students in middle school to experience this art form; and
WHEREAS, the CCEF continues to meet the challenge of providing high quality school programs within the framework of
the State’s system of funding schools; and
WHEREAS, the CCEF has an active membership of Culver City parents, community members and businesses that deserve
recognition for their outstanding efforts.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Culver City, California, hereby declares the
week of March 27, 2006 as “Culver City Education Foundation Week” and requests that all Culver City residents and the business and
professional community support the Culver City Education Foundation and its dedication to the Culver City Unified School District.
