A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CULVER CITY, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING A SIDE
LETTER AGREEMENT AMENDING THE 2005-2010
MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN
THE CITY OF CULVER CITY AND THE CULVER CITY
MANAGEMENT GROUP.
WHEREAS, the City of Culver City ("City") and the Culver City
Management Group ("CCMG") have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding
("MOU") covering the period of October 1, 2005 through September 30, 2010; and,
WHEREAS, Article Two, Section I. E. of the MOU provides for a 4%
salary adjustment effective on the pay period that includes October 1, 2009 for all
classifications within the CCMG bargaining unit; and,
WHEREAS, the classifications of Assistant City Manager, Chief Financial
Officer, Chief Information Officer, Community Development Director, Human Resources
Director, Parks, Recreation and Community Services Director, Public Works Director,
and Transportation Director (collectively "Executive Management") are represented by
CCMG for wages, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment; and,
WHEREAS, the City and GCMG have reached an agreement which
provides for a 12-month deferral of the 4% salary adjustment for Executive
Management.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Culver City, DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
1. The Side Letter Agreement attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and
incorporated herein by this reference is hereby approved.|1010101010101010 10

282. The Side Letter Agreement shall constitute an amendment to the
existing Memorandum of Understanding between the City and GCMG to reflect a 12-
month deferral of the 4% salary adjustment for Executive Management effective
October 1, 2009.
3. The City Manager is authorized to execute the Side Letter
Agreement on behalf of the City.

MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
BETWEEN THE CITY OF CULVER CITY
AND CULVER CITY MANAGEMENT GROUP
EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 1, 2009
This side letter memorializes an agreement reached between the City of Culver
City ("City") and the Culver City Management Group ("CCMG") to reflect an agreed
upon amendment to Article Two, Section I. E. — Salaries, of the 2005-2010 Memorandum
of Understanding ("MOU") entered into between the City and CCMG. All other terms
and conditions of the existing MOU and/or side letters shall remain in full force and
effect. The City and CCMG agree that this side letter agreement shall be incorporated
into current and future Memoranda of Understanding between both parties, unless
modified or removed in writing by mutual agreement of the parties.
Article Two, Section I. E. of the MOU provides for a 4% salary adjustment
effective on the pay period that includes October 1, 2009 for all classifications
represented by CCMG, which includes the following classifications (collectively
"Executive Management"):
Assistant City Manager
Human Resources Director
Chief Financial Officer
Parks, Recreation and Community Services Director
Chief Information Officer
Public Works Director
Community Development Director Transportation Director
The City and CCMG mutually agree that Article Two, Section I. E. of the
2005-2010 CCMG MOU is hereby amended to reflect a 12-month deferral of the
4% salary adjustment effective October 1, 2009 for Executive Management.

RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends the City Council adopt a Resolution approving a Side-Letter
Agreement between the City of Culver City and the Culver City Management Group
Amending the 2005-2010 Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Culver
City and the Culver City Management Group Related to the Deferral of a 4% Salary
Adjustment for Executive Management.
BACKGROUND / DISCUSSION:
The Culver City Management Group (“CCMG”) 2005-2010 Memorandum of
Understanding (“MOU”) provides a 4% salary adjustment effective on the pay period
that includes October 1, 2009 for all classifications that are represented by CCMG.
The following classifications are included within the CCMG MOU and are
represented by CCMG for wages, hours and other terms and conditions of
employment: Assistant City Manager, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Information
Officer, Community Development Director, Human Resources Director, Parks,
Recreation and Community Services Director, Public Works Director, and
Transportation Director (collectively “Executive Management”).

The City and CCMG have mutually agreed to defer the 4% salary adjustment for
Executive Management for a 12-month period.
FISCAL ANALYSIS:
The 12 month deferral of the 4% salary adjustment for the Executive Management
employees will result in a savings of approximately $66,000 for the General Fund,
and $7,500 for the Transportation Fund.
