RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Parks, Recreation and Community Services (PRCS) Commission select the Chair and Vice Chair of the PRCS Commission for the remainder of the 2024-2025 term.
REORGANIZATION
With Chair Leonard stepping down from the PRCS Commission, the remaining members need to choose a new Chair and if applicable a new Vice Chair. The PRCS Commission can decide if these roles will be for the remaining 2024-2025 term or if they would prefer to elect the Chair and Vice Chair through June 2026.
Selection of the Chair and Vice Chair
The PRCS Commission does not have a formal policy for the selection of the Chair and Vice Chair. Traditionally the Vice Chair becomes the Chair and the Member with the most seniority becomes the Vice Chair. However, selection of Chair and Vice Chair is at the discretion of the Commission Members.
Below is each Commission Member’s seat number with their associated term:
Seat Number 1: Marci Baun - First full-term expires on June 30, 2028.
Seat Number 2: Crystal Alexander - First full-term expires on June 30, 2027.
Seat Number 4: Palvi Mohammed - Second full-term expires on June 30, 2025.
Sear Number 5: Maggie Peters - First partial-term expires on June 30, 2025.
A. Nominations of the Chair and Vice Chair
The previous Chair announces that this is the time and place to receive nominations for Chair, calls for nominations, closes the nominations, and calls for the vote.
Recommended Motion: That the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Commission select Commission Member ___________________as Chair of the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Commission for Fiscal Year 2024/2025.
B. New Chair Opens Nominations for Vice Chair, if applicable.
The new Chair then announces that this is the time and place to receive nominations for Vice Chair, calls for nominations, closes the nominations, and calls for the vote.
Recommended Motion: That the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Commission select Commission Member ________________ as Vice Chair of the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Commission for Fiscal Year 2024/2025.
