RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration and Juneteenth Celebration Advisory Committee (Advisory Committee) welcome and introduce newly appointed Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration and Juneteenth Celebration Advisory Committee Members Lauri Brown, Tracy Lee and observe the administration of the Oath of Office to newly appointed Committee Member Tracey Walters.
BACKGROUND/ DISCUSSION
On June 8, 2026, the City Council appointed Lauri Brown to the Advisory Committee Seat Number 6, Tracy Lee to the Advisory Committee Seat Number 8 and Tracey Walters to the Advisory Committee Seat Number 9 all for a partial term expiring June 30, 2028.
ADMINISTRATION OF THE OATH OF OFFICE
To begin Tracey Walters term, the Advisory Committee Secretary will administer the Constitutional and Loyalty Oaths to the newly appointed Committee Member, both parties will sign duplicate originals of the document, and Committee Member Walters will retain one of the signed documents.
