RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council approve the resolution requesting the Board of Supervisors of
the County of Los Angeles to render specified services to the City relating to the
conduct of a General Municipal Election to be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2006.
BACKGROUND:
In accordance with Section 10002 of the Elections Code of the State of California,
the governing body of any city or district, may, by resolution, request the Board of
Supervisors of the county to permit the County Elections Official to render specified
services to the city or district relating to the conduct of an election; e.g. prepare and
furnish a computer record of names and addresses of all eligible registered voters so
labels may be printed to attach to sample ballot pamphlets. Subject to approval of
the Board of Supervisors, these services shall be performed by the County Elections
Official.
To comply with the provisions of Section 10002 of the Elections Code, it is required
that this resolution be approved and adopted.
FISCAL ANALYSIS:
The estimated cost of the election is included in the FY 05-06 budget. The Election
budget is $60,000.00.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CULVER CITY, CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING THE BOARD
OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES
TO RENDER SPECIFIED SERVICES TO THE CITY OF
CULVER CITY, CALIFORNIA RELATING TO THE
CONDUCT OF A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE
HELD IN THE CITY ON TUESDAY APRIL 11 2006
WHEREAS a General Municipal Election is to be held in the City of Culver
City California on April 11, 2006 and
WHEREAS in the course of conduct of the election, it will be necessary for
the City to request services of the County and
WHEREAS, all necessary expense in performing this service shall be paid by
the City of Culver City
NOW, THEREFORE the City Council of the City of Culver City, California
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE as follows|109| Pursuant to the provisions of Section 10002 of the Elections Code of
the State of California, the City Council hereby requests the Board of Supervisors of the
County to permit the County Election Department to prepare and furnish to the City for use
in conducting the election the computer record of the names and addresses of all eligible
registered voters in the City so the City may print labels to be attached to self-mailer
sample ballot pamphlets and will also furnish to the City printed indices of the voters to be
used by the precinct board at the polling place, and will make available to the City
additional election equipment and assistance according to state law|109| The City shall reimburse the County for services performed when the
work is completed and upon presentation to the City of a properly approved bill(jam)

of Supervisors and to the Election Department of the County of Los Angeles, each a
