RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends the City Council: (1) accept the work performed by Williams Pipeline
Contractors, Inc.; (2) authorize filing a Notice of Completion; and (3) authorize release
of retention payment in the amount of $1,945 after the expiration of the 35-day lien
period for the Kerr Way Sewer Project, P-230.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
On December 10, 2012, the City Council awarded a construction contract to Williams
Pipeline Contractors, Inc. The project consisted of:
• Placement of 117 feet of new 8-inch diameter sewer main line near the
centerline of Kerr Way;
• Placement of new 6-inch diameter sewer laterals up to the property lines of the
six residential structures on Kerr Way;
• Replacement of the existing concrete pavers due to the construction.
Williams Pipeline Contractors, Inc. successfully completed the work as required in the
executed contract. The construction management and inspection were performed by
staff.
FISCAL ANALYSIS:
The approved construction contract amount was $38,900, and the City Council
authorized the Public Works Director/City Engineer to approve change orders in the City of Culver City, California

amount not to exceed $3,890. No change orders were issued. The final construction
expenditure amount was $38,900.

MOTIONS:
That the City Council:
1) Accept the work performed by the contractor, Williams Pipeline Contractors, Inc., for
the Kerr Way Sewer Project, P-230; and,
2) Authorize the Public Works Director/City Engineer to execute the Notice of
Completion and submit it to the Los Angeles County Recorder’s office for
recordation; and,
3) Authorize the release of retention funds to Williams Pipeline Contractors, Inc., in the
amount of $1,945 upon expiration of the 35-day lien period.
