RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the Redevelopment Agency authorize the award of a
construction contract to Sialic Contractors Corporation dba Shawnan as the lowest
responsive and responsible bidder to complete the necessary work for the
Washington Boulevard Resurfacing Project, P-843 and Culver Boulevard Pavement
Reconstruction Company, P-837.

Businesses along Residential Overlay Project limits via First Class Postcard mailed
August 3, 2006. Sialic Contractors Corporation dba Shawnan, PALP Inc., dba Excel
Paving Company, All-American Paving, and Sully-Miller Contracting Company were
also notified via first Class Postcard mailed August 3, 2006.

MOTIONS:
That the Agency:
1) Award a construction contract to Sialic Contractors Corporation dba Shawnan for
the Washington Boulevard Resurfacing Project (P-843) based on its bid amount
of $936,700, and Culver Boulevard Pavement Reconstruction Project (P-837)
based on its bid amount of $88,875; and
2) Direct the Agency General Counsel to prepare the necessary documents for the
contract and authorize the Executive Director to execute the documents.
