RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the City Council (1) discuss a recognition event for Assembly Majority Leader Isaac Bryan, District 55; and, if desired (2) provide direction on the allocation of City funds and other resources needed in the planning and implementation of the event; (3) provide direction on the invitation process and participation at the event; and (4) provide other direction to the City Manager as desired.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
At the July 10, 2023 City Council Meeting, Vice Mayor McMorrin requested and received a majority consensus to agendize a conversation about recognizing Assemblymember Isaac Bryan as the Assembly Majority Leader in the State of California. If the City Council desires to proceed with an event, staff is requesting the City Council discuss and provide direction on the planning and implementation of the event, including but not limited to the allocation of City funds and other resources needed, and direction regarding invitations.
FISCAL ANALYSIS
If the City Council decides to provide funding and in-kind services for this event, there will be a fiscal impact to the City, which is difficult to estimate until more information about the event is known.

That the City Council:
1. Discuss a recognition event for Assembly Majority Leader Isaac Bryan, District 55;
And, if desired:
2. Provide direction on the allocation of City funds and other resources needed in the planning and implementation of the event;

4. Provide other direction to the City Manager as desired.
