RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends the City Council adopt an Ordinance amending Section 11.01.075
of the Culver City Municipal Code to prohibit the issuance of a business tax
certificate to any business that provides goods, services or products that are illegal
under local, state or federal law (including but not limited to medical marijuana
dispensaries), and waive further reading.
BACKGROUND:
At the February 25, 2008 City Council meeting, the City Council introduced the
Ordinance (Attachment 1) by a 4-1 vote. The Ordinance is brought back tonight for
adoption.
