RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends the City Council and Redevelopment Agency receive an overview
presentation on the Fiscal Years 2008-09 & 2009-10 Proposed Budget from the Parks,
Recreation & Community Services Department, Information Technology Department,
and City Attorney’s Department.
DISCUSSION:
The first budget study session of the Fiscal Years 2008-09 and 2009-10 Proposed
Budget occurred on May 5
th
. The Chief Financial Officer gave a presentation to City
Council, which included a discussion of current economic conditions and provided
financial highlights for the City’s major funds. Since then there have been three more
Budget Study sessions held on May 12
th
, May 13
th
, and May 19
th
. Presentations to
date have been given for the City Manager’s Office, City Clerk’s Office, Risk
Management, Fire Department, Police Department, Public Works Department,
including Sewer and Sanitation Divisions, Capital Improvement Projects Budget,
Transportation Department, Community Development Department, and
Redevelopment Agency. This evening the Parks, Recreation & Community Services
Department, Information Technology Department, and City Attorney’s Department will
provide presentations of their budget proposals.
MOTION:
That the City Council and Redevelopment Agency:
Receive a presentation from the Parks, Recreation & Community Services
Department, Information Technology Department, and City Attorney’s Department.
