RECOMMENDATION

 

Staff recommends that the Finance Advisory Committee (FAC) (1) receive an update from the 2026 Government Efficiency Ad Hoc Subcommittee, and (2) delegate the selection of the nominees to receive the Fifth Annual Innovation Awards to the 2026 Government Efficiency Ad Hoc Subcommittee.

 

 

BACKGROUND / DISCUSSION

 

The 2026 Government Efficiency Ad Hoc Subcommittee was established to continue to implement the City Innovation Award Program to encourage employees and/or departments to contribute towards increased efficiency, improved quality of life for Culver City residents, reduced costs and/or generated revenue, or to demonstrate distinguished performance based on department goals/outcome measures. The 2026 Government Efficiency Ad Hoc Subcommittee is composed of Committee Member Austin, Member Di Vincente, Committee Member Rajiv, and Committee Member Thakur.

 

Applications for the City’s Fifth Annual Innovation Awards were opened June 2026. The Ad Hoc Subcommittee members will review all the applications received and will present a summary of the 2026 award process during a future meeting.
