BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
City staff from the Public Works Environmental Programs and Operations Division (EPO) will present for discussion a presentation regarding Culver City’s Citywide Stormwater Capture Project (Project). The City is implementing the Project in conformance with the adopted 2021 Stormwater Quality Master Plan (SWQMP). The SWQMP was developed to guide actions that would help achieve compliance with the water quality regulations documented in the Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Permit, Ballona Creek Enhanced Watershed Management Program (EWMP), Marina del Rey EWMP, and multiple Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) requirements.
The Project will provide multiple benefits while assisting the City in addressing regulatory requirements with the installation of stormwater control measures at (8) different locations. The stormwater control measures include the installation of drywells, pervious pavement, bioretention system(s) and subsurface infiltration system(s).
Currently the Project is in the design phase and construction is anticipated to start in 2025.
City staff has opened a webpage dedicated to this Project, which will be updated as the Project progresses <https://www.culvercity.org/City-Projects/PW-Stormwater-BMP-Implementation>
