RECOMMENDATION

 

Staff recommend that the Equity and Human Relations Advisory Committee (EHRAC): (1) discuss EHRAC meeting needs for July 1, 2026, through December 31, 2026; and (2) if so desired, determine and approve special meeting dates and times for July 1, 2026, through December 31, 2026.

 

 

BACKGROUND

 

The Equity and Human Relations Advisory Committee (EHRAC) By-Laws contain the following information regarding Regular Meetings, Cancellations, and Special Meetings:

 

Regular Meetings

The Committee shall meet on a quarterly basis, or as needed, on the 4th Tuesday of the months of July, October, January and April at a time and place to be decided by the Committee.

 

Cancellation of a scheduled meeting/event:

In consultation with the Chair, Regular meetings may be cancelled by the Staff Liaison.

 

Special Meetings

Special meetings may be called at any time by the Chair or a quorum of the Committee.

 

Currently there are no special meetings scheduled for July 1, 2026, through December 31, 2026. (Attachment 1)

 

 

DISCUSSION

 

In deference to staff and member work and project schedules, EHRAC special meetings are to be limited in number and used for specific, time sensitive and special items related to its workplan. EHRAC may form and/or maintain Ad Hoc Subcommittees to meet and discuss special activities, progress on projects, and events on an as-needed basis in between scheduled meetings.

 

In accordance with the above, and based on the approved EHRAC July 2026 Biannual Workplan, this item for EHRAC’s consideration at the July 28, 2026, Regular Meeting, will be to discuss and determine the following dates and times for the below, if so desired:

 

a.                     United Against Hate Involvement; or

b.                     Fall Community Conversation; and

c.                     Community Events Survey - Questions, Timeline, Flyer
