RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends the City Council receive an overview presentation on the Fiscal
Years 2009-10 and 2010-11 Proposed Budget for the Police Department, Fire
Department, and Transportation Department.
DISCUSSION:
The first budget study session of the Fiscal Years 2009-10 and 2010-11 Proposed
Budget occurred on May 26, 2009. The Chief Financial Officer gave a presentation
to City Council, which included a discussion of current economic conditions, insight
into how government finances work, and provided financial highlights for the
Proposed Budget. On June 1, 2009 the General Government Departments gave
presentations, which included the City Council proposed budget, City Manager’s
Office, City Clerk Department, Finance Department, Human Resources Department,
Information Technology Department, and City Attorney’s Department. Presentations
given this evening will be from the Police Department, Fire Department, and
Transportation Department.
MOTION:
That the City Council:
Receive a presentation for the Police Department, Fire Department, and
Transportation Department and direct staff as deemed appropriate.
