RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends the City Council adopt an Ordinance (Attachment 1) amending various
sections of the Culver City Municipal Code to reflect the name change of the “Parks and
Recreation Commission” to the “Parks, Recreation and Community Services Commission.”
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
At the City Council meeting on August 25, 2008, the Council introduced the Ordinance by a
unanimous vote (5-0). The Ordinance is brought back this evening for adoption.
Should the City Council adopt the Ordinance this evening, it would become effective 30
days after the date of adoption (or on October 9, 2008). Therefore, all references to the
Parks and Recreation Commission would be changed to the Parks, Recreation, and
Community Services Commission effective on that date.
FISCAL ANALYSIS:
Funds for the minimal expense related to the name change are available in the adopted
fiscal 2008-09 PR&CS Administration Budget in account 10130100.514100 – Departmental
Special Supplies.
