RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the City Council approve the final plans and specifications and authorize the publication of a notice inviting bids for the Minor Pavement & Concrete Rehabilitation Project (FY26-27) - PZ-554.
BACKGROUND
Per recommendation and visual observation by Public Works staff and residents, staff have selected portions of streets to be rehabilitated in FY 26-27. The scope of work generally consists of reconstructing existing deteriorated concrete streets in specific locations. The following street locations are proposed for reconstruction.
• Harter Avenue between Culver Boulevard and Wagner Street
• Moore Street at Washington Boulevard
• 12337 Washington Boulevard
• 12470 Washington Boulevard
• 13220 Washington Boulevard Bus Stop
• 11181 Washington Boulevard (west bound approach lanes at Sepulveda Boulevard)
Additionally, the Ocean Drive Sidewalk Project (PS-037) was originally approved by City Council at the April 13, 2026 meeting and the Council approved both the final plans and specifications and the authorization to publish a notice inviting bids for construction. Staff recommends that this project be included in this bid package and subsequently under one contractor for cost efficiencies associated with larger quantities of concrete.
• Ocean Drive Sidewalk between Overland Ave and Fairbanks (PS-037);
Public Works Department Engineering Division staff prepared specifications, exhibits and bid documents for the Minor Pavement & Concrete Rehabilitation Project (FY26-27) - PZ-554. Staff recommends the City Council approve the plans and specifications and authorize the advertisement of construction bids for the Minor Pavement & Concrete Rehabilitation Project (FY26-27) - PZ-554. Construction is scheduled to start Spring 2027.
