RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Equity and Human Relations Advisory Committee (EHRAC) (1) receive a report from the Soccer Prohibition Signs Ad Hoc Subcommittee; (2) if so desired, discuss and consider approval of the report's recommendations; (3) discuss, and if deemed appropriate, approve draft script to be read at a City Council meeting; and (4) determine next steps as deemed necessary.
BACKGROUND
At the February 27, 2024, Special Meeting, former Chair and current Member Valverde voiced his concern over the adult soccer prohibition signage posted in Culver City Parks. Chair Valverde obtained consensus to bring the item back for EHRAC consideration at the April 23, 2024, Regular Meeting.
At the April 23, 2024, Regular Meeting, EHRAC received a report from Chair Valverde (Attachment 1) and achieved consensus to create a Soccer Prohibition Signs Ad Hoc Subcommittee and to appoint Chair Valverde and Members Bano and McBride thereto.
