DISCUSSION

Staff from the Mobility & Traffic Engineering Division will provide an update on the signalized and unsignalized intersections safety improvement projects.

The signalized and unsignalized intersection improvement projects are a result of the City’s Local Road Safety Plan adopted in November 2021.  The plan identified priority intersections based on a calculated collision rate.  Most of the locations included with these two projects are taken from the Local Road Safety Plan list.  The Local Road Safety Plan document can be found at: https://www.culvercity.org/City-Hall/Departments/Public-Works/PW-Mobility-Traffic-Engineering-Division/Local-Road-Safety-Plan-LRSP

In March 2021, the City received confirmation from the State of California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) that two grant applications were selected for funding of through the Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) grant.
