RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Equity and Human Relations Advisory Committee (1) discuss the report from the Latino Heritage Month Ad Hoc Subcommittee on the Latino Heritage Month event plan; (2) consider approval of the report's recommendations and determine next steps; and (3) provide direction to staff if deemed appropriate.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
During the April 26, 2022 regular meeting, Vice Chair Valverde achieved consensus to discuss the creation of a Latino Heritage Month Ad Hoc Subcommittee to plan a Latino Heritage Month event in September/October 2022 and to appoint members thereto during the May 24, 2022 special meeting agenda.
At the May 24, 2022, the Equity and Human Relations Advisory Committee created the Latino Heritage Month Ad Hoc Subcommittee and appointed Chair Rebecca Rona, Vice Chair Carlos Valverde, and committee members Haifaa Moammar, and Jared Morgan.
