RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Equity and Human Relations Advisory Committee (EHRAC): (1) discuss the creation of a Latino heritage Month Ad Hoc Subcommittee to plan a Latino Heritage Event for 2022; (2) (if desired) form a Latino Heritage Month Ad Hoc Subcommittee and appoint members thereto; and (3) provide direction to staff if deemed appropriate.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
During the April 26, 2022 regular meeting, Vice Chair Carlos Valverde achieved consensus to agendize this item for May 24, 2022 special meeting agenda.
Once an Ad Hoc Subcommittee is formed, members would brainstorm a Latino Heritage event program to discuss and receive approval from the entire committee. After reaching consensus, the EHRAC would hold an event during Latino Heritage Month . Latino Heritage Month is celebrated this year from September 15, 2022 - October 15, 2022.
