RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends the City Council (1) approve an amendment to the existing parking management agreement with ABM Industries to operate Culver City parking facilities for an additional three-month period; and (2) authorize the City Manager to approve month-to-month extensions thereafter for up to an additional three months (for an aggregate total of up to six months).


BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION

Culver City ("City") owns and operates the Ince, Cardiff, Watseka and City Hall parking structures and the Canfield, Virginia, Venice and Robertson Boulevard surface parking lots, which total approximately 2,200 parking spaces. The City contracts with a parking manager to operate its parking facilities.

On July 11, 2016, the City Council authorized entering into a five-year agreement with ABM Industries (ABM) to operate the City's parking structures and lots. The existing agreement expires July 31, 2021.
