COMMENDATION

 

Albert Vera was appointed to the Civil Service Commission (Commission) by the City Council on July 1, 2016.  After serving four years he was reappointed to a second term on July 1, 2020.  Mr. Vera recently resigned his second term in light of his election to the City Council in the November 3, 2020 General Municipal Election.

 

During his tenure, Mr. Vera proved to be a compassionate, thoughtful and valuable member of the Commission He served as Chair and Vice-Chair of the Commission where he demonstrated fair and objective leadership qualities.  In addition to the countless hours spent at meetings and hearings, Mr. Vera also served as an Ad-Hoc Subcommittee member in reviewing possible amendments to the Civil Service Rules. 

 

Mr. Vera’s constant professionalism and his commitment and dedication to the community is appreciated by City Council, members of the Civil Service Commission and staff.

 

The Commission will be presenting Mr. Vera with a commendation in appreciation for his service to the City of Culver City.
