RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends that the Disability Advisory Committee (DAC) observe the administration of the Oath of Office to appointed DAC Members Marcy Sookne and Jorge Alvarez.


BACKGROUND

Culver City Municipal Code (CCMC), Section 1104 - Oaths and Affirmations are applicable.

At the September 29, 2020 City Council Meeting, the City Council made the following appointments to the Disability Advisory Committee (DAC):

* Marcy Sookne to the DAC Seat Number 3 for a term expiring June 30, 2023; and
* Jorge Alvarez to the DAC Seat Number 4 for a term expiring June 30, 2024.

City Charter Section 1401 provides: "Before entering upon the duties of their respective offices, all officers and employees of the City shall take and subscribe to the following oath or affirmation:

"I, [Member Name], do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of California against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of California; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties upon...
