RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the City Council approve a FY 2019/2020 budget amendment to record the receipt of $14,190.34 in Los Angeles County Proposition A Maintenance and Servicing Excess Funds for Senior Center Janitorial Services (a budget amendment requires a four-fifths vote).
BACKGROUND
On August 12, 2019, PRCS Department staff received an email from the Los Angeles County Regional Park and Open Space District (RPOSD) announcing the availability of the 2019/2020 Maintenance and Servicing Excess (M&SE) Funds Program. Program funds were available to agencies whose Proposition A Excess Funds grant-funded projects had been completed and the grants closed. The deadline to submit M&SE application was Thursday, September 5, 2019 by 5:00 p.m.
The Los Angeles County Propositions of 1992 and 1996 (Proposition A) both provided for the annual allocation of "Regular" Maintenance and Servicing Funds (M&SR). The Benefit Assessment for the 1996 Proposition ended in Fiscal Year 2016/2017. Excess Funds have been declared since Fiscal Year 1998/1999.
