RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends the City Council (1) approve a purchase order to RedSky Emergency Vehicles for the purchase of two Braun Chief XL Type I Ambulances in an amount of $556,638.80; and (2) authorize the Fire Chief to approve amendments to the purchase order in an additional amount not-to-exceed $55,660 (10% of base purchase price for unexpected costs) resulting in a total expenditure not to exceed $612,298.80.


BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION

The Culver City Fire Department is charged with providing fire suppression, rescue and emergency medical services to its residents and visitors 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This is currently achieved from three strategically located fire stations staffing three front line Fire Engines, one Ladder Truck, two Paramedic Rescue Ambulances, and one Basic Life Support Ambulance.
