RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends the City Council (1) adopt a Resolution approving the adoption of the 2017 Updated Greater Los Angeles County Region Integrated Regional Water Management (IRWM) Plan (Attachment 1); and (2) adopt a Resolution authorizing the City Manager to submit a grant application in the amount of $850,000 from the State of California - Proposition 1 IRWM Grant Program Funds for the Mesmer Low Flow Diversion Project, PR-005 (Attachment 2).


BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION

IRWM

The State of California Department of Water Resources (DWR) created the IRWM Program to encourage integrated, regional strategies for managing water resources and to provide funding for both planning and implementation of projects that support the management of water supplies, water quality, environmental interests, drought protection, flood protection, and reducing independence on imported water.
