RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends that the Civil Service Commission (Commission) discuss and appoint one new Ad Hoc Subcommittee member to review certain Civil Service Rules (Rules).

BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION

At the Commission’s January 2, 2019 regular meeting, the Commission determined to begin the review process of certain Civil Service Rules.  The Commission appointed two members, Chair Daly Redholtz and Commissioner Kuechle, to serve on a Civil Service Rules Amendment Ad Hoc Subcommittee (Subcommittee) for the purpose of reviewing the current rules and presenting recommended revisions to the full Commission.

The Subcommittee has held one meeting, developed a project outline and discussed proposed revisions. Recently, Staff was notified by Chair Daly Redholtz that she wishes to step down from the Subcommittee. The purpose of tonight’s agenda item is to allow the Commission to discuss the request from Chair Daly Redholtz, and if so desired, the Commission may nominate and appoint a new member to the Subcommittee.
