RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends the City Council (1) approve an amendment to the existing professional services agreement with Castlerock Environmental, Inc. (Castlerock) in an additional amount of $18,890.00 for mold remediation in the restroom of the Senior Center; and (2) authorize the City Manager to approve additional amendment(s) to the agreement for contingencies in an additional amount not-to-exceed $1,889.00.


BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION

In 2018, the City entered into an agreement in the amount of $47,445.00 with Castlerock through an informal bid procedure for mold remediation resulting from water damage within the walls for three restrooms at the Senior Center. At that time, it was discovered that a fourth restroom contained mold damage resulting from similar water damage. However, the costs to remediate this fourth restroom exceeds the City Manager's purchasing authority of $50,000.00 per vendor per fiscal year.
