RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends the City Council retroactively approve an application for the FY2018-2019 Caltrans' Sustainable Communities Strategy Transportation Planning Grant Program for the Innovative Mobility Service Planning and Management Study.


BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION

Per the February 15, 2018 memorandum to the City Council, the City's Transportation Department planned to submit an application for the FY2018-2019 Caltrans' Sustainable Communities Strategy Transportation Planning Grant (The Grant) program. The applications for the FY2018-19 grant cycle was due February 23, 2018. As the submittal deadline was imminent and substantial staff work was required, staff advised the City Council that this item would be placed on the February 26, 2018 consent calendar, or a later agenda, for Council to ratify the application retroactively. Staff subsequently submitted a grant application to Caltrans on February 23, 2018.
