RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the City Council receive and file the Culver City Centennial Celebration Committee's (CCCCC) Final Report and direct the City Manager as deemed appropriate.
BACKGROUND:
On June 13, 2014, the CCCCC filed its Articles of Incorporation of a Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation (Attachment 1). On December 8, 2014, the City Council approved an MOU between the City and the CCCCC. Since that time, the CCCCC has obtained numerous sponsors; organized numerous successful events and programs, such as the opening and closing events, galas and a banner program; and held regular committee and subcommittee meetings. As part of the MOU, the CCCCC is required to provide a final report to City staff and the City Council on the Centennial Celebration.
DISCUSSION:
The City contributed $17,000, in-kind City staff time, and use of City equipment throughout the duration of this Agreement (2014-2017). A copy of the Final Report provided by the CCCCC is attached (Attachment 2).
At the October 24, 2017 CCCCC Board Meeting, the CCCCC Board approved disbursing the remaining revenue, (approximately $2,000), to the Culver City Historical Society. The CCCCC's Articles of Incorporation (Section 5d) require the...
