RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the City Council (1) discuss whether the City of Culver City should become a member of the California Contract Cities Association (CCCA); (2) if the City Council chooses to become a member, then (a) appoint a Delegate and Alternate to the CCCA and (b) appropriate $2,600 for membership and seminar expenses ($1,378 for membership dues through June 30, 2018 and approximately $1,200 for annual seminar expenses); and (3) provide direction to the City Manager as deemed appropriate.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
On August 8, 2017, Mayor Cooper and Vice Mayor Small met with Artesia Mayor Ali Sajjad Taj and CCCA Executive Director, Marcel Rodarte to discuss the benefits of becoming a CCCA Member. The CCCA, is a collection of 75 member cities united for a common cause. The CCCA Mission is to assist member cities by advocating and advancing the benefits of the contracting model, protecting local control, embracing public/private partnerships and providing educational opportunities for its membership.
