RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends the City Council adopt respective Resolutions to dissolve the General Plan Advisory Committee and Fiesta La Ballona Committee.

BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION

The Fiesta la Ballona Committee (FLBC) was established via Resolution No. 2012-R104 at the City Council meeting on December 10, 2012. After 11 years, at the November 13, 2023 City Council meeting it was determined that the Fiesta la Ballona Committee should be dissolved. The proposed Resolution dissolves the FLBC and rescinds Resolution No. 2012-R104 (Attachment 1).

The General Plan Advisory Committee (GPAC) was established on March 8, 2018, and its Bylaws were approved through Resolution No. 2019-R086 on November 18, 2019.
The GPAC's purpose was to advise the City Council through the development of the framework and policies of the General Plan Update. With the work of the GPAC concluded and the General Plan scheduled for adoption in late 2024, the GPAC should be dissolved. The proposed Resolution dissolves the GPAC and rescinds Resolution No. 2019- R086 (Attachment 2).

FISCAL ANALYSIS

There is no fiscal impact associated with the adoption of the proposed Resolutions.
